DUST LUST 2019

28.-29.09.2019
Mašun, Slovenia

The Dust Lust is only called a race because it sounds cool, you shouldn’t take it seriously. Seriously.

In 2015 we travelled to Italy to ride one of the biggest bikepacking events in the world; the Tuscany trail. We fell in love with the simplicity of the race, the beautiful places that we travelled through and the camaraderie of the racers. It became clear to us that something similar has to be done back home and in 2016 we came up with Dust Lust.

Slovenia has the perfect playground for off-road cycling. Gravel roads, forest roads, small local asphalt roads… you name it. We wanted to show some of these roads to a broader public, and an unsupported gravel event seemed like the perfect way to do it.

After a successful introduction of a new Dust Lust location in 2018 we’ll be going back to the forests and beautiful gravel roads of Javornik hills in 2019 as well. This year we’re planning the Dust Lust as a two day event so you can enjoy the surroundings even more. Camping, food, beer, good times and of course an introductory “social ride” on day one followed by the main Dust Lust ride/race on day two!

Prijave se odprejo 1. Julija.

Uporabljajte svoj del cestišča in spoštujte prometne predpise.
  • Spremljevalna vozila niso dovoljena.
  • Dust Lust organizatorji si pridržujemo pravico do spremembe trase in časa dogajanja zaradi varnostnih razlogov.

  • The Dust Lust courses feature a blend of pavement, dirt roads and gravel roads, the riders should be prepared for rain, loose terrain, mud and variable temperatures.
  • Riders must obey all applicable traffic laws during the event and are encouraged to use common sense, keep their head up and stay in their lane of travel. At no time will there be a closed road.
  • All riders are required to wear an approved helmet and cannot remove it at any time while riding.
  • Due to an unpredictable nature of the race, we highly suggest the use of safety bicycle lights.
  • Be prepared for anything that might go wrong in case you end up on your own.
  • Riders should expect vehicle traffic on all roads, along with motorcycles and wild animals. Try to stay in your lane and follow the rules of the road.
  • Riders must be able to change a flat tire and deal with any other damages that might happen to them or their bikes during the race. Spare tubes, patch kits and appropriate tools are of the essence, as well as a basic first aid kit.
  • No follow vehicles are allowed. Along the route there are a couple of gas stations, restaurants and super markets, which you can use in order to resupply. Nevertheless, try to be as self depended as possible, because you never know what might happen.

This is the only time that riders can communicate with the organisers during the race. In case of emergency; act like you would on a solo ride.
